FAW-Volkswagen Changchun wants to increase quantities and manufacture the Audi Q5

In order to accommodate the increasing demand in China and to manufacture the new Audi Q5 model, SimPlan is supporting the Chinese automobile manufacturer FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. (FAW) with the development of measures to increase quantities and to integrate the new vehicle model.

The deciding factor for the award of the contract was – in addition to many years of experience – primarily the references from projects implemented in China. SimPlan has already supported several automotive companies with the organisation of their production in the People’s Republic of China. The projects can be implemented in Chinese, German and English.

SimPlan developed the models for both plants directly at the site. Now simulation is used to determine those areas of the production plant with room for improvement and to review potential optimisation measures.

The integration of existing simulation models, which had been created by various companies and using individual modelling standards, provided quite a challenge.
