New potentials of logistics simulationIn order to drastically shorten the costly and often extremely time-consuming implementation phase of the control software during the test phase, the real plant can be projected as a simulation model with sufficient level of detail. Thereby in particular the communication pattern of the plant, such as the telegram traffic between the system and control elements, is to be included in the model. Thus faults can be detected through simulation experiments and the control software tested before the actual commissioning. As a result, time pressure and risks decrease. High flexibilityThus software and control strategies can be tested and optimised even under extreme conditions, such as overload. The facility to repeat certain situations accurately in the simulation model without great expenditure facilitates particularly fault repair. Hereby test activities for the optimisation of the interaction of control level and physical level can be carried out independent of the real plant. Convincing resultsIn different, successful projects we have gained extensive experience with the application of simulation models before and during the commissioning of warehouse management systems and material flow control computers. You benefit from this experience as the implementation phase can be drastically shortened through consistent utilisation of the simulation model whereby, besides a considerable reduction of the commissioning time, costs related to this can also be saved. |
