SimPlan Group shows flag in the south
New location of SimPlan AG in Regensburg
With the establishment of the Regensburg branch, SimPlan AG will have a nationwide presence in southern Germany as of July 1, 2002. The established consulting company is one of the leading providers in the areas of process optimization, simulation and digital factory. Despite the current difficult economic situation, SimPlan AG is growing rapidly. The group’s annual sales and employee growth of around 40 percent clearly reflects the pace of development and the potential of the digital manufacturing market.
The Regensburg office will be managed by Stephan Stauber (34) and Dr.-Ing. Thomas Collisi (34), both of whom are experienced specialists in the fields of simulation technology and warehousing/logistics.
“The majority of German car manufacturers are represented in southern Germany, and our presence in Munich, Holzgerlingen and, from July, Regensburg takes this into account,” says Stephan Stauber, explaining the choice of the new location. The logistics expert can point to a large number of simulation projects in industry, including for well-known customers such as BMW, VW, INGRAM MACROTRON and Hilti. He also gained experience by working with renowned logistics service providers such as Witron, Miebach or SSI Schaefer Noell as well as during several years in the logistics sector in the USA.
Dr.-Ing. Thomas Collisi is the author of numerous publications and simulation studies and until the beginning of this year was the managing director of the Bavarian Research Association for Simulation Technology (FORSIM). In addition to the University of Erlangen and the VDI (Association of German Engineers), automotive manufacturers such as BMW, Rover and Audi, among others, have relied on the know-how of the simulation expert.
The impressive location of the new Regensburg branch is the “IT-Speicher”. The former granary is located directly on the Danube near the old town of Regensburg and captivates with the special charm of a lavishly renovated old building, equipped with the latest technology.
