OPTIMISED – Research Project for Innovative Production Planning
OPTIMISED (“Operational Planning Tool Interfacing Manufacturing Integrated Simulations with Empirical Data”) is a cross-sectorial and international research project, which is trying to push several technologies in advanced planning on higher technology readiness levels. To achieve this, OPTIMISED seeks to develop methods and tools for deployment of highly reactive planning systems that incorporate factory modelling and simulation based on empirical data captured using smart embedded sensors and pro-active human-machine interfaces.
The OPTIMISED environment will use semantically enriched process modelling, big-data generation and more to develop a digital simulation modelling toolbox that effectively supports planning specialists, manufacturing engineers, team leaders and shopfloor operatives throughout the system’s lifecycle.
Models that use this toolbox, supported by data rich manufacturing execution systems with OPTIMISED technology, will facilitate a dramatic improvement in system performance, operational efficiency, equipment utilisation and resource optimisation.
The OPTIMISED research partners
Among the OPTIMISED research partners are: SimPlan AG and Advanced Data Processing GmbH from Germany, Dassault Systemes BV based in the Netherlands, Laing O’Rourke plc, the University of Nottingham and Smarter Grid Solutions from Great Britain, Keonys SAS and Alstom Transport SA from France as well as Spanish companies Ideko S.COOP and GOIMEK S.COOP.
With three end users (Laing, Alsthom und Goimek) from three different industries (prefabricated construction components, railway, mechanical engineering) among the research partners, a wide-ranging evaluation of the developed models and methods is possible.
OPTIMISED is funded by the EU as part of the Horizon2020 program.
