Introduction to the tool

SimPacSi is specialised software for modelling and simulating processing and packaging plants. The tool helps companies to evaluate plant concepts at an early stage, identify bottlenecks and systematically analyse potential for optimisation.

Reliable key figures are often lacking, particularly in the planning phase of new lines or when adapting existing plants. Average values from Excel are not sufficient to realistically map dynamic effects such as disruptions, cycle deviations or buffer effects. SimPacSi closes this gap with an intuitive modelling environment and integrated simulation.

The application is suitable for both beginners in simulation and experienced planners who are looking for a compact and practical solution for line analysis.

SimPacSi offers a constantly growing range of functions:

  • Simple drag & drop modelling environment: effortlessly create models of your systems.
  • Complex system layouts: use toolbox elements such as branches and mergers of material flows to map parallel structures in the layout.
  • Buffer capacity: model multiple buffers and their capacities in the layout. Modelling of accumulating conveyors.
  • Dynamic operating performance: Take into account the availability and mean time to repair (MTTR) of system elements.
  • Batch simulation: Run automated simulations over several batches, with a free choice of the simulation period and the number of repetitions.
  • User interface: Design the interface with text and graphic elements for a better overview of complex systems.
  • Project alternatives: Copy and create two (free version) or an unlimited number (premium subscription) of alternatives in a project.
  • Various evaluation options:
    • Machine-related evaluation: Analyse output and cumulative machine states.
    • Line-related evaluation: Evaluate the output at the line level.
    • Batch analysis: Visualise the results of individual simulation runs of a batch simulation in a diagram.

Licensing model

SimPacSi is available both as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and for local installation.

The application can be used either in the cloud or—as is common for most corporate customers—on your own IT infrastructure. It can be conveniently accessed via a web browser, tablet, or smartphone.

With the SaaS version, updates and maintenance are performed automatically, while with local installations, integration with existing IT systems is customized. This gives you maximum flexibility in terms of operation and data security.

With the free SimPacSi app, you can use the following functions free of charge:

  • Project management: Manage up to 2 projects with 2 alternatives each.
  • Plant modelling: Model your processing and packaging plants.
  • Plant design: Design your plant with your own images for the plant elements and use the option of taking pictures directly in the app.
  • Mini overview map: Keep track of complex plants with the mini overview map.
  • Simulation: Run simulations over a limited period of time and 1 simulation run at a time (not usable for statistical result evaluations).

Who is SimPacSi suitable for?

Do I need simulation skills?
No. The modelling is visually structured and suitable for beginners. The Premium version is recommended for in-depth statistical analyses.

Can I compare several variants?
Yes. Two alternatives are possible in the free version, and an unlimited number in the Premium version.

Can the app also be used on mobile devices?
Yes. It can be used on desktops, tablets and smartphones.
