Plant simulation becomes even easier
The portfolio of simulation expert SimPlan ranges from the creation of “digital twins” of production and logistics processes to virtual commissioning and process simulation. At this year’s Fachpack in Nuremberg (September 27-29), SimPlan will be presenting a wide range of simulation and software applications that can be used to configure and calculate everything from manufacturing and packaging plants to logistics.
The latest version of the PacSi simulation system, specially developed for machine builders and plant operators of processing and packaging plants, will be presented. Innovations include a model generator and the associated option of using PacSi as an app in a web front end. In addition, energy and media consumption of a plant can be simulated depending on the real operating states of the individual machines and interlinking systems.
The SimQueue app offers the possibility of a simple and fast availability calculation incl. automated storage optimization of, among others, manufacturing and packaging plants for the immediate comparison of structure and design variants in the early planning phase. The distribution of buffer locations can be evaluated and optimized with SimQueue. This supports planners in the design of buffer capacities and helps to identify bottlenecks at an early stage.
Calculations of plant availabilities and their throughput up to the complete simulation enable a significantly increased decision-making reliability. This is indispensable for the planning, development and optimal operation of highly dynamic processing operations (production and packaging) in the food industry, pharmaceuticals and analogous sectors (including cosmetics, adhesives and detergents). The optimal use of resources (minimized consumption or use of valuable raw materials, energy, media and personnel) is an absolute priority for both plant suppliers and plant operators.
With SimQueue and the further developed functionalities of PacSi, SimPlan can further significantly lower the entry barrier for simulation. This means that planners, service staff or sales and purchasing staff without special expert knowledge of simulation methodology can now easily configure a packaging plant and calculate the output, availability and efficiency for different variants in advance in a matter of minutes.
