This simulation study shows the result of the project for FEGA & SCHMITT Elektrogroßhandel GmbH in Heilsbronn. SimPlan created a simulation study to support the planning process – from data simulation to detailed simulation of the final concept. The realisation was carried out by TGW Systems Integration GmbH.

The simulation study accompanied the planning process from data simulation to detailed simulation of the final concept.
In Phase I, the simulation of the ‘business logic’ was carried out to check the basic functionality of the system.
In Phase II, a detailed simulation of the realisation of the TGW system was carried out to optimise the technical implementation.

The simulation study was used to support and optimise the planning. Key figures such as throughput, capacity utilisation and throughput times were determined under dynamic conditions. In addition, the effects of changes to parameters and structures were shown in order to enable well-founded decisions to be made in the planning process.

The simulation solution offers detailed stock, space and shuttle management, as well as precise order management based on data for future scenarios. It also enables the dynamic calculation of shipping units. The software tools Plant Simulation 16.0, SimSuite Logistic and SimAssist are used to implement this.

The simulation study successfully verified the system design and performance. In addition, strategies and material flows were optimised to ensure greater efficiency and improved process flows.
