News about Motek 2009

Plant design in 3D

At the Motek 2009 SimPlan AG presents the new programs Demo3D and Emulate3D.

Demo3D was developed by the British company Emulate3D Ltd. to plan production, assembly and logistics plants digitally and in 3D and to animate or simulate the processes interactively.

The combination of graphics and physics is unique worldwide. Friction, inertia, gravity, etc. are also taken into account and displayed. The software thus supports e.g. the sales phase, in which plants can be quickly designed and animated with Demo3D. This helps in communicating with the customer, e.g. to explain special effects and to present possible solutions efficiently. In the realization phase, simulations can be used to determine important findings, such as bottlenecks or necessary technical performance of conveyors, pushers.

Emulate3D is used for the virtual commissioning of PLC controls for conveyor systems. Due to the possibility of continuous testing during PLC programming, commissioning times are massively reduced, while software quality is increased at the same time. Emulate3D is based on the technology of Demo3D and thus combines all advantages.

The virtual plants are built up via drag and drop with the help of prefabricated, intelligent building blocks. By default, a wide range of different building blocks is already delivered with Demo3D. However, it is also possible to create your own building blocks. In order to achieve photorealistic representations, 3D CAD data can also be imported and used.

One of the latest customers is the company STEIN Automation GmbH & Co. KG, for whom SimPlan has created various animations of conveyor systems.
