ZIM/AiF SimChain

The use of simulation in the planning of cross-company supply chains offers enormous potential for optimization, since all processes can be tested and optimized in detail before implementation. However, this requires that all companies involved provide the data needed for the simulation. Passing on the data to other companies or service providers is complicated and in conflict with companies data fafety policies.

In addition, existing simulation tools do not provide appropriate encryption technologies. By means of the developed software solution, it should be made possible to create a common simulation model, although all involved parties can only directly view their own data or data explicitly released for them by partners. Users can allow the use of their uploaded data, but limit the presentation of the simulation results so that it is not possible to draw conclusions about protected data.

The developed solution should be realized as a cloud service. As part of the research project, the encryption technology to be used in particular must be developed in order to be able to grant each other dynamic read or write rights.

SimPlan works together with the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences – Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel University on this project. The ZIM / AiF SimChain project receives funds by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
