25 years of innovation in intralogistics: SimPlan Integrations celebrates its anniversary and sets the course for the future
Hanau / Witten, May 2026. To mark the 25th anniversary of SimPlan Integrations GmbH, the SimPlan Group hosted a customer day in Witten. Current and future topics in emulation, simulation and digital twins were the focus. The event also showed how these technologies are used in production and logistics. Customers, partners and long standing associates exchanged technical insights. They also looked back together on 25 years of successful collaboration.
From specialist to established market leader
Since its foundation in 2001, SimPlan Integrations GmbH has stood for the successful implementation of complex logistics and intralogistics projects. What began as a highly specialised unit within the SimPlan Group has developed steadily. Today, it is an indispensable partner for conveyor technology, warehouse logistics and automation. The focus remains clearly on emulation and virtual commissioning (VIBN).
In his welcome address, Prof. Dr Sven Spieckermann, Spokesman of the Executive Board of SimPlan AG, emphasised the company’s strategic importance. He said: “SimPlan Integrations makes us what we are. Together, we are the market leader for simulation in Germany, particularly in logistics simulation and virtual commissioning.”
Practical insights and technological trends
The Customer Day gave participants practical insights into real projects. It also covered current issues and technological trends in emulation and simulation. Successful applications from logistics and conveyor technology were presented. In addition, the event showed modern approaches to digital twins. Participants also gained insights into the latest tools and solutions for the integration and virtual commissioning of complex systems.
The program also focused on developments over the past 25 years. Together with customers and partners, SimPlan Integrations looked back on key milestones, long standing projects and the ongoing development of emulation and virtual commissioning. Many partnerships have existed for over 20 years. As a result, they continue to shape the collaboration to this day. In particular, speakers highlighted the close, solution focused and collaborative nature of these partnerships.
Outlook for the future and generational change
In addition to the retrospective, the event looked ahead to future challenges. Automation, data based decisions, artificial intelligence and stronger links between data and simulation are becoming increasingly important. SimPlan Integrations will continue to support this transformation. At the same time, the company will drive forward the further development of emulation and VIBN approaches, as well as digital twins.
The company also announced an important milestone for long term stability. A planned change of managing directors is set for 2028. Jörg Kemper and Dr Axel Radtke will hand over their responsibilities to the long standing authorised signatories Tobias Ludwig and Thomas Simon. This will help maintain continuity and innovative strength at SimPlan Integrations GmbH.
