Practical insights, honest dialogue and strong partnerships in the fields of simulation, emulation and digital twins
To mark the 25th anniversary of SimPlan Integrations GmbH, numerous customers, partners and long-standing associates gathered in Witten on 6 May 2026 to look back on the developments of the past 25 years and, at the same time, look ahead to the future. Under the motto “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, the customer day was entirely dedicated to emulation, simulation, virtual commissioning and digital twins. The event featured specialist presentations, case studies and numerous opportunities for personal discussion in a pleasant atmosphere.
25 years of development and collaboration
Right from the start, it became clear just how significant a role SimPlan Integrations GmbH plays within the SimPlan Group and the intralogistics sector today. In their welcoming remarks, the company’s leaders looked back on the company’s development since its foundation in 2001. Over the years, what began as a specialised unit within the SimPlan Group has evolved into an established partner for emulation, virtual commissioning and automation solutions. Particular emphasis was placed on the long-standing partnerships and close collaboration with customers from a wide range of industries.
Practical presentations and honest insights
The programme of presentations impressed with its high level of practical relevance and thematic diversity. The ‘Yesterday’ session focused on historical developments, shared milestones and early customer projects. Speakers from industry and logistics spoke openly about their experiences from more than two decades of collaboration with SimPlan. The discussion covered not only successful projects, but also challenges, changes and key lessons learnt from real-world practice. It was precisely this honest exchange that many guests perceived as a particular added value.
In the “Today” section, the focus was on current applications and technological developments. Presentations demonstrated how modern simulation and emulation solutions are used today in production and intralogistics. Topics such as digital twins, SAP EWM MFS, modern layout planning and automation projects highlighted just how strongly data-driven processes and virtual models are shaping industrial practice. The accompanying exhibition also offered an opportunity to get to know current solutions and tools first-hand.
Focus on future topics
The “Tomorrow” section looked ahead to future developments in the fields of research, artificial intelligence and simulation. Presentations on Motion-Mining®, data-driven decision-making processes and future AI applications sparked many exciting discussions. One thing became particularly clear: the importance of digital twins, intelligent data models and virtual commissioning will continue to grow in the coming years. SimPlan Integrations wishes to continue playing an active role in shaping this transformation and consistently developing existing technologies.
Tobias Ludwig, authorised signatory at SimPlan Integrations GmbH, guided the entire day’s programme with confidence and great sensitivity. Through his moderation, he not only ensured that everything ran smoothly but also skilfully interwove technical content, personal stories and discussions.
Exchange and Networking
In addition to the technical content, the Customer Day focused above all on personal exchange. Discussions between customers, partners and staff demonstrated once again how important trusting collaboration and joint innovation are for long-term success. The joint closing event with beer and currywurst finally provided the perfect opportunity to round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere.
The SimPlan Group would like to thank all the speakers, guests and the entire organising team for a thoroughly successful Customer Day and 25 years of successful collaboration.
