Our series “SimPlan turns 30” / Part 8 – the astronaut becomes a bridge
In 2008, it was time for a new logo with a 3D look and a completely new brand image. Together with the agency ixtensa, we developed the new SimPlan image over the course of a year. Although the logo was to be based on the original design with the optimisation circle consisting of four rectangles, it was to appear much more modern and contemporary.
We had chosen the SimPlan astronaut (internally often mistaken for a diver) and Darwin as symbols for pioneering and exploratory spirit, since we were pioneers in simulation at the time of our founding – and of course still are today.
Both symbolic images now made way for the new bridge design. The bridge to reality – that’s what we want to represent for our customers with simulation, because with our models we build a bridge from static abstract planning to a dynamic realistic digital model.
Currently – after 14 years – we are again working on a refresh of our corporate design. This will be published in September with a slightly revised logo and a new design for our websites and information material. Let us surprise you!
